Frequently asked questions
-
What is the delivery time of orders?
Once an order has been placed and payment is received, orders are usually shipped same or next workingday, unless indicated otherwise. Orders within the Netherlands are delivered by PostNL, usually 1 working day after the parcel is shipped. For other countries the delivery times may vary. For most European countries the delivery time varies from 2-7 working days and outside Europe this can be 3-9 working days.
If you wish to receive more accurate delivery times for your region, please contact us. Please note, however, that all delivery times are indicative.

Which size should I buy?
We have chosen to express our sizes in ages. However, every child is different and also sizes may differ from brand to brand. To help you choose the best size, we have made a size table, which you can find in the footer of our website. Also, for each product additional size and fit information is provided. In general, Phil&Phae clothes have a tall and slim fit. When in doubt between two sizes, we generally advice to choose the larger one, as kids already grow up fast enough and that way you can get more wear out of your garment.
-
Is the organic cotton certified?
Yes, our fabrics are made with certified organic cotton and the fabrics and trimmings are OEKO-TEX® 100 certified, which guarantees that they contain no harmful substances. However, you will not find a GOTS-logo in our garments, because we as a small business (and also some of the small family businesses we work with) do not have a GOTS-certification ourselves.

How should I wash Phil&Phae clothes?
All organic cotton garments of Phil&Phae are machine washable at 30 degrees. A gentle detergent and washing program is preferred to keep garments in optimal condition. More precise washing instruction are to be found in the wash&care label inside the garment. Please study carefully. Iron garments inside-out and never iron on a print.

Is there any warranty on the clothing?
Phil&Phae clothes are designed and produced with utmost care, but unfortunately in rare cases it can still happen that there is a defect in a garment. Did you receive an item with defect? Defects must be reported to us soonest after your order was delivered (but within 5 calendar days) via service@philandphae.com, and please provide us pictures of the defect. We will exchange the item, offer a repair or we will offer you to return it for a refund. Does a garment show defects after use (which could not have been seen upon delivery)? We offer a three-month warranty. Warranty does not cover a normal use degree of wear and tear, stains caused by storing / drying in sunlight, normal degrees of shrinkage (up to 5% for cotton, or more when mentioned on the labeling), or defects that were caused by heavy use. Warranty expires when clothes have been amended or not used as intended, or when the instructions on the wash & care label were not followed. In all cases, we are more than happy to hear your feedback about our items, so we can keep working on constantly improving our products! When the item was not purchases with us, but at one of our retailers, please always turn to the retailer for warranty issues.

Is it possible to order a gift?
Yes! At check-out, you can add the option 'gift wrapping' to your order. Your order will then be wrapped with tissue paper and ribbon. A hand written card will be added, with your own personal message to the receiver.
*Please note: we can not note 'gift' on custom forms for shipments outside EU. -
Will there be shrinkage after washing?
Yes, cotton naturally shrinks a bit after washing. Especially organic cotton, as no shrinkage-reducing chemicals are used. That is why we recommend to allow a shrinkage up to 5% when trying on a garment. Shrinkage applies to the the length of the garments, not in the width. You can partly avoid shrinkage by not washing above 30 degrees, not using the tumble dryer and not using a hot iron.
